One way to protect herself from non-magnetic object impacts and explosions might be to design and then utilise a resilient metal suit for particularly arduous conditions. She might not be able to personally repel non-magnetic objects, but a strong enough arduous environmental suit would protect her regardless-unless the objects could penetrate metal, such as those flung at high speed, or diamond-tipped projectiles or debris. However, any such AEV could incorporate reinforced carbon fibre to offset that contingency. I imagine that Lana could also theoretically use magnetised debris or particles as a shield to blunt any attacks or impact damage from that quarter, and given enough time in a holographic practice room exercising her abilities, she might gain confidence and expertise at such use of her abilities. She might also be able to degrade the cohesion of adversarial metal battle suits.

I have been reading up on gravity, and gravity is an inherent property of matter. Another inherent property of matter is inertia. Everyone is intimately familiar with gravity - so much so that some people don't even define it as a force - everything falls 'down' and down is always in the same relative direction so the Earth must be flat!. Most of us know something about inertia but are less familiar with it. So if Lana's belt gives her limited control over inertia, it seems likely that it would take her longer to discover this - and that perhaps in order to utilize it more fully, she might actually need to learn more about what inertia is and how it works. She's taken all the general science courses throughout high school, but Physics is given to Seniors... so she is going to do some extra-credit studying this summer... So now I need some suggestions for a plot. Lana is at girls' summer camp, Camp Hiawatha, where she met Lois last summer, and Lois is also there again this summer. I need some kind of event that occurs while Lana is at camp that she needs to deal with as Gravity Girl. NOT a wild bear joining the campers for dinner. Doesn't have to be at the camp, but somewhere Gravity Girl can get to in only a few minutes. Some things we know about Camp Hiawatha: It is not far from a small city (population under 5,000) which is the county capital, and it is not too far from the county courthouse. The camp is on the southern shore of Lake Nehanee Tahini, which has a maximum width of just over a mile and about 15 miles of coastline. Camp lore suggested that 'Nehanee Tahini' meant ‘Sunset Lake’ in the local Native American dialect, but speakers of that dialect don't agree. Directly across the lake there is a boys' camp named Camp Chieftain. There is a Kickapoo Nation reservation nearby, which also borders on Lake Nehanee Tahini. Campers come from up to several hundred miles away and generally from the 4 closest states. Tents and cabins are assigned alphabetically; Lois and Lana share the same bunk bed (Lana in the upper) in Tent 6 this year. Swimming is one of the most popular camp activities, and campers are classified by their swimming skills, from 'House Cat' through 'Otter'. Almost every year, some camper in one of the lower swimming categories tries to swim across the lake and has to be rescued. There is a cave nearby named Pow Wow cave, and inside the cave there are some totem poles carved from stone. Lana's father once made an extensive map of the cavern system and Lana remembers the map. After agriculture, food production is the largest industry in the region. There are no nearby military bases, but there is a large Federal prison an hour or so drive to the southeast. Many years ago, gold was discovered in the tributaries to the main river that feeds the lake, and there are almost always prospectors panning for gold in these tributaries.
The camp sponsors a tennis tournament among campers, and every night there are movies; occasionally they share movie night with Camp Chieftain, and at the end of the week, there is a dance for campers in both camps. There is a kryptonite meteor buried in a gully outside of camp and not far from that is another gully named 'Echo Canyon' where sounds can echo for up to half an hour after they are made. One of the streams that empties into the lake is quite rough, perhaps Class III to Class IV rapids.
So, there's some background. Thanks for your thoughts!

How about a rockslide while they are in a hike?

thank you! You now have a relative named Joan... she is the camp nurse for Camp Hiawatha...

I have a villain named the Tin Tarantula and all I know about this villain is the name, and that whatever powers the villain has, were the result of inventions or creations by Dr. Daytona, an insane scientist and inventor.
Daytona is known to have created potions that allowed a man to grow to 30 feet tall (and then shrank back to 9 feet and is now seemingly stuck at 9 feet forever) and given another man the power to spray stun beams from his eye (it was supposed to temporarily blind him in one eye). Both of these potions caused incredible pain when they were initially ingested. He also has stolen advanced technology and used it to create technology-based powers such as a simulacrum 'cosmic rod' and some kind of bomb-related powers. And in both these cases, the villain also underwent incredible pain the first time they used the technology.
The 'Dr. Daytona's gifts initially cause great pain' and 'Dr. Daytona's gifts have unpleasant side effects' are tropes that should apply to Tin Tarantula as well.
Thanks!
Many organotin compounds are highly toxic - perhaps some organotin compound is the villain's 'signature' (like leaving an Ace of Spades at every murder scene). Tin is one of the earliest metals used by humans, in particular in bronze alloys. Pewter is mostly tin. (I suppose I could change the villain's name to 'the Pewter Pirate', 'Pewter Penguin', 'Pewter Porcupine', or 'Pewter Pumpkin'?) Tin is used as a coating on steel (such as 'tin cans') to prevent corrosion. Tin is highly reflective.
So here's one of my thoughts... Dr. Daytona concocted a non-toxic organotin compound which he injected into one of his 'partners' that gave the partner some spider-like powers - but caused her skin to bind to tin, so she has a tin coating - which she can control to some extent, so she is either highly reflective or dull gray in color. Her bite is toxic, she can deliver an organotin compound through hollow fangs.

Grey Death! Okay, so her abilities may not be deadly, but supervillains aren't noted for their modesty, are they?

Tin Tarantula, the Grey Death... now that is a lot grimmer than I started out looking for!

Well, yes, but supervillains do brag. Probably, she actually likes kittens and wears pink in her civilian identity.
