Well, it looks like the DC multiverse has now been fully restored to its former 'infinite' status, given that their current active solicitation reflects a multitude of previously unrecognised alternate Earths that didn't fit into the former 52 universe straitjacket. The good news is that means that they're not going to dispense with the neo-classical AUs like Earths 2,3,5/S and 10/X- or, for that matter, the more interesting new ones like matriarchal Earth-11, or Superman Red Son's Earth 30. It also means that some of the newer AUs, like DCeased, Injustice, Dark Knights of Steel, Batman '89 and DC Mecha will also get some coverage. Good. That means that the real LSH as opposed to its succession of ghastly reiterations is now back in continuity. The question is, does this mean curtains for Earth-0 as DC's 'core' reality?: Source: www.screenrant.com/dark-crisis-big-bang-dc-comics-alt-realities/

The Legion of Super-Heroes was a spinoff of Superboy, and its history should always reflect that, IMO.

I really liked the Adult Legion, even when they replaced Superboy's contribution with Valor and Supergirl with Laurel Gand / Andromeda, even after they introduced the Batch 13 Legion, though I couldn't figure out where they were going to go with them - right until the Earth blew up, and then I stopped reading both series. If they found some other way to keep Superboy/Superman and Supergirl out of the future, those stories would still be a worthy addition to the 'real' Legion continuity.
So, yes to the real Legion coming back!

I think it's tremendously cool that DC Comics is bringing back the Infinite Multiverse! There is absolutely nothing intrinsically wrong with there being infinite possibilities for the superheroes and superheroines of the DC Universe and there is, for example, an Earth where the Justice League International is the main superhero team of this Earth or an Earth in which the Global Guardians are the greatest super-team of heroes or an Earth of the Multiverse where L.E.G.I.O.N. is the main super group of that exists, or an Earth from the New DC Multiverse exclusive to heroes of the Wildstorm Comics with groups like the Wild.C.A.T.S. , Gen 13 , DV8 , The Authority , Stormwatch , Team 7 , Planetary , Wetworks , Guardians of the Globe among others .
Or an Earth from the New Multiverse DC where the New Titans became the main super team of heroes in the world with adult versions of each of the all-times members of the New Titans,or an Earth of the Multiverse where with the permanent dissolution of the Justice League the team of Batman and The Outsiders became the main and greatest group of heroes of this world of the Multiverse, or a Earth of the Multiverse where Batman was forced to destroy the Justice League and taken by the guilt of this act the Dark Knight permanently abandoned the life of hero and it fell to Red Hood and The Outlaws the task of taking the place of the destroyed Justice League as the main super group of heroes to emerge in this Earth from the DC Multiverse, or an Earth from the New Multiverse DC for Justice League Gods and Monsters group.
Or an Earth from the DC Multiverse based on the world of Justice Guild of America a superhero team featured in the Justice League animated series two-part episode "Legends", an homage to the Golden Age of Superheroes with the heirs of the heroic legacy of : Streak , Cat Man , Green Guardsman , Tom Turbine , Black Siren and brand new and unpublished new superheroes and superheroines heirs of this group of super protectors helping with their super powers to rebuild that world that had been devastated by a nuclear holocaust and kept enslaved in an eternal illusion of the days of adventure and glory of of this group of superheroes by the monstrous villain former mascot juvenile of the group Ray Thompson who had become a mutated abomination owner of mental powers that not even the Justice League members who were trapped in this Earth of the Multiverse could defeat and that was only defeated and whose world has only been released as a last gesture of heroism by the images of the heroes of the Justice Guild of America so that in the present a totally new version of this group emerged willing to honor the legacy of the Justice Guild of America and build their own legends.
Or an Earth from the Multiverse DC that would be the world of Batman The Dark Knight, or a the Earth of the Multiverse that would be the Earth of the Young Justice group,or an Earth of the Multiverse DC where the super group of teenagers heroes heirs of the heroic legacy of the Justice Society of America the Infinity Inc with its now adult members with the dissolution of the team of heroes golden age legends took its place in his Earth of the New Multiverse DC as the main group of heroes of this World, or an Earth from the DC Multiverse where the Justice Society of America of Geoff Johns formed by iconic heroes of the Golden Age and heirs to the heroic legacy of these heroes are the main group of defenders of Earth, or an Earth from the DC Multiverse for the group Justice Alliance that would be the main super team of heroes in this world, an Earth from the New Multiverse DC that would be the world of "Flashpoint" Cyborg / Victor Stone and Batman the Knight of Vengeance / Thomas Wayne and other unlikely superheroes are our greatest guardians and protectors who would form the main group of heroes of this world of the New Multiverse.
Or a DC Multiverse Earth based on 1001 Arabian Nights with mages Sha'ir, Genies (Daos Genies of Earth, Efreetis Genies of Fire, Marids Genies of Water, Djinns Genies of Air) , Gen (Minor Genies), Jann (Half-Genies), Flying Carpets, Magic Winged Camels, Sword Dancers Dervishes, imposing Saracens, austere Desert Bedouins and 1001 Arabian Nights versions of DC Universe main superheroes and superheroines equal : Superman , Batman , Wonder Woman , Martian Manhunter , Aquaman , Flash , Green Lantern , Firestorm , The Atom , Elongated Man , Green Arrow , Black Canary , Vixen , Vibe , Gypsy , Mister Miracle , Big Barda , Forager , Orion , Lightray , Apache Chief , Black Vulcan , El Dorado , Rima the Jungle Woman , Samurai , The Wonder Twins etc. Or a DC Multiverse Earth where the Egyptians and their civilization became the main culture of Earth and dominated the world inspiring with their traditions and way of life millennial to all other people in the world with Egyptian versions of Justice League formed by equivalents of the ancient Egypt of : Superman , Batman , Wonder Woman , Martian Manhunter , Aquaman , Flash , Green Lantern , Firestorm , The Atom , Elongated Man , Green Arrow , Black Canary , Vixen , Apache Chief , Black Orchid , Black Vulcan , Captain Ray , Cyclotron (android) , El Dorado , Golden Pharaoh , Rima the Jungle Woman , Samurai , The Wonder Twins.
Or an Earth from the Multiverse DC exclusive to Captain Thunder / Willie Fawcett,or an Earth from the DC Multiverse where the Legion of Super-Heroes is the main group of superheroes that exist fighting cosmic threats in the distant cosmic future of the 31st century of the DC Universe, either a Super Beast Earth inhabited by anthropomorphic animal men and women with "Men Beasts" equivalents of the heroes and villains of the DC Universe or a "Holy Earth" that is directly influenced by Heaven instead of Hell like Earth-13 with "holy" versions of DC greatest superheroes and super villains,or an Eastern Earth with imposing and austere Samurai superheroes wielding Katana swords, stealthy shadow assassins Ninja, Shinobi, Mages Wu-Jen and Shugenja practitioners of oriental magic, Demons Oni , Tenshis (Eastern Angels), Hengeyokais , Eastern Dragons and Eastern versions of the Super-Heroes and Super-Villains of the DC Comics .
Or an Earth from the DC Multiverse that would be a magical medieval fantasy world in the same style of the Middle-Earth as "The Lord of the Rings" from the world of Narnia from "The Chronicles of Narnia" or the world of Abeir-Toril from the Forgotten Realms from the RPG Role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons with superheroes Paladins majestic , Clerics full of faith, Warriors powerful, Berserker Barbarians, Druids harmonious with the forces of nature, Rangers master trackers, Shamans, spiritual leaders of primitive peoples who wield the powers of totemic magic,Bards who inspire with melodies about the deeds of heroes of the past and cast spells with their music , Rogues cunning masters in the art of theft and stealth , Monks masters in the art of unarmed combat , Grumpy Dwarves , Elves and Half-Elves imposing, Ingenious and cunning Halflings, Orcs and Half-Orcs violent but with a very personal own and private code of honor, inventive master Goblins and Gnomes and other fantastic races in a fantasy world equal Minotaurs , Centaurs , Ogres and Demi-Ogres , Hobgoblins , Bugbears , Trolls , Giants and Half-Giants , Sprites , Dragonborns , Wêmics , Tritons and Mermaids , Nymphs , Dryads , Fauns , Satyrs etc where magic would be real and palpable with versions of Medieval Magical Fantasy of the greatest superheroes and super-villains of the DC Universe.
Or an Earth with a super powerful version of Justice League 3001 with versions created by the parasitic process of genetic replication very superior to the original heroes of they are replicated owners of absolute powers defending an alternative version of Earth from the 31st century and venturing into the worlds of the cosmic future your DC Universe Futuristic or why not an Earth from the Multiverse DC for the superheroes of Hanna-Barbera anyway I 'm very happy with the news I hope the Multiverse of Infinite Earths is here to stay and that DC doesn't disappear with it at the end of Dark Crisis and that after the ending and the conclusion of this miniseries, DC begins to explore the new worlds of the Infinite Multiverse in brand news comics book titles such as a new version of the Justice Incarnate with heroes from all the new worlds of the Multiverse. Long live the new DC Multiverse and its Infinite Earths! May they have come to stay!

I would really love to be able to see adventures with the Retaliators of the Earth-8 returning to Marvel the "sarcastic prick" with their Squadron Supreme, or new adventures in the Universe DC Beyond the Earth-12 or the Earth of the President Superman Kalel/Calvin Ellis the Earth of superheroes formed by ethnic minorities the Earth-23. I would think it really cool if by chance in one of the Earths of the new DC Infinite Multiverse there was an Earth in which the classic Legion of Super-Heroes was the main team of superheroes of the future. If there are infinite Earths again this means that there are also infinite possible futures.

I would love to see a futuristic world with the classic Legion of Super-Heroes with the young superheroes Superboy / Kal-El / Clark Kent and Supergirl / Kara Zor-El / Linda Danvers. But I would also would find the maximum one future of the Legion of Super-Heroes with Superboy clone / Kon-El / Conner Kent and Supergirl Earth-Born Angel / Matrix / Linda Lee Danvers.

If I may be bold enough, I would just love it if by chance DC Comics created adult versions of Legion of Super-Heroes members for Earth-12 the Earth of Batman Beyond , Superman Beyond and Justice League Beyond of the Multiverse DC with the characters heirs from heroic legacy from the Legion of Super Heroes of 31st century would come from a group of direct successors of the Legion of Super Heroes from the 51st century who in the future world of Batman Beyond would interact with Justice League Beyond through inter temporal journeys being known as "Legion of Super-Heroes Beyond" whose members would all be heirs and heiresses adults of the original members of the Legion of Super Heroes of the 31st century of the original whose members would be : Cosmic Man Beyond , Lightning Man Beyond , Saturn Woman Beyond , Multiple Lady Beyond , Phantom Woman Beyond , Superman VII Beyond , Superwoman VII Beyond , Chameleon Man Beyond, Chameleon Woman Beyond, Colossal Man Beyond, Invisible Lord Beyond,Quantum Woman Beyond , Brainiac 10 Beyond, Ion Beyond (descendant of Lar Gand mortal host of the Ion Entity of the 51st century), Andromeda Beyond (descendant of Laurel Gand carrier of a Power Ring Violet of Love of the Star Sapphires of the 51st century), Star-Master Beyond ,Sun Man Beyond, Particle Woman Beyond,Ultra Lord Beyond, Matter Absorber Man Beyond , Martial Man Beyond , Empress Projectra Beyond , Element Lord Beyond , Lightning Woman Beyond , Dreamer Lady Beyond , Chemical King Beyond , Comet Empress Beyond , Rainbow Man Beyond , Stone Man Beyond , Flaming Man Beyond,Plant Master Beyond, Draconic Woman Beyond, Machinist Beyond , Crystal Man Beyond , Nocturnal Woman Beyond , Glorious Sorceress Beyond ,Harmony Woman Beyond, Sovereign Man Beyond ( descendant of Kent Shakespeare), Psychic Man Beyond,Nightstorm Beyond, Quislet Beyond , Tyroc Beyond , Ferro Man Beyond, Shadow Mistress Beyond, Timber Wolf Beyond, Pulsar Beyond ( descendant of Wildfire ), Evening Star Beyond ( descendant of Dawnstar ),Rock Beyond ( descendant of Block in the 51st century), White Wicca Beyond ( descendant woman White Wicca of White Witch powerful white sorceress of the 51st century), Polar Man Beyond, Tellus Beyond , Inferno Beyond ,XS Beyond, Gates Beyond , Monstress Beyond , Thundering Beyond ( descendant male of CeCe Beck carrier of the power of SHAZAM! in the 51st century), Elastified Man Beyond ( descendant of Bouncing Boy being that instead of the power to turn into a ball and bounce on things what we agree is not the most useful of the skills mainly in a fight against Darkseid that only by ignorance could make a point of disintegrating he first with the Omega Effect he instead has elastic powers similar to those of Shape / Raleigh Lund of the Universe Marvel of the Earth from the reality of Squadron Supreme . Simple, practical and efficient and he remains fat because this is one of the "charms" of the character and who said that it is necessary to be "muscular" and have "model body" to be super hero and fight evil ? ) . What do you think of this idea?

For me, the definitive version was always the Five Years Later Legion. I hated the SW Batch 13 Legionnaires and what Zero Hour did to trash the continuity of over thirty years. I refused to read the successive reboots. I also really like Legion of Super-Heroes : Five Years Later but I think there is room for countless different interpretations of the Legion of Super-Heroes .

I'm not a big fan of the Dark Nights: Metal series and the Dark Multiverse. I think this material doesn't suit me as a possible option for the Infinite Multiverse, but anyway, I respect and understand that it's a valid reading material.

Tom and Mary Bierbaum were amazing the way they delved into Legion continuity and tried to make sense of the mess left after the Crisis with no Superboy or Supergirl. They really knew their stuff. Yes, it was the grim 'n' gritty Legion, but had such a rich history. I enjoyed it at the time.

Yes I agree with you on that point DocQuantum I also think Tom and Mary Bierbaum were excellent in the way they developed Legion of Super-Heroes without Superboy and Supergirl I also infinitely prefer this story to Legion possessing a very rich and iconic history full of emblematic references to the Silver Age of the comics.
