I think I've found a character Libby hasn't already used in a story...
Centuryman appearances: Superboy #10
creator: Will Ferris Powers: wears a 'time belt' with a dial that allows him to travel through time Notes: he has traveled to many different times already, and has a lot of experience facing the dangers of the past and future.

You didn't mention that on Earth-1 he is nothing more than a fictional comic-strip character, so he doesn't exist except as a concept.

well, actually, doesn't that mean he existed on some other Earth? Probably one of the ones that was destroyed in the Crisis... but, suppose he was in the past when his Earth was destroyed? Or in the time stream? Perhaps when he returns to the present, he pops into one of our Earths? Anyway, I was thrilled to find a character Lib hasn't already used...

I would group Centuryman with other fictional characters from comic-strips on Earth-1. Maybe they all exist on their own world. There are several of them, though most of them tend to be analogs of existing Earth-1 or Earth-2 characters.

yeah, that's what I was thinking too. If they have their own Earth, it is probably destroyed in the Crisis. But Centuryman _could_ have survived. In Superboy #10 it was stated that he is a very popular strip in the daily and Sunday papers but there are really no details about him, including any hints to his powers other than time travel. So I suppose he is almost a clean slate.
In my Other Earth stories (and some stories set on Earth S), there is a very well known superhero franchise for 'Sturdiman'. It might be fun to update all of these stories and swap in Centuryman for Sturdiman...

I once found a timeline online (sadly, it no longer exists at all) where sombody created a timeline for a metafictional universe. It was a world where al the comic book heroes written in comic books were real, like Nightman and the Wizard Archer. Someday, I may wont to try and re-create it myself.

While I don't have that timeline, I have several that I have saved over the years. It occurs to me that I should post them on the Character Histories board, even if a lot of the details of golden age comics in particular are inaccurate in some ways. Way back in the early 2000s there was very little access to golden age comics, but that has changed drastically with all the scanning that has taken place since then, basically making them open source resources like on comicbookplus.com and others. These timelines were really useful when the original comics were so hard to find. Of course, they're still useful for finding info in a centralized place when it would take too much time to go through tons of old comics looking for villains with particular powers, etc.

I just started a thread for 'double fictional' characters - characters who are fiction in their fictional universes. Anyone who wants can add characters, or post additional information about characters already on the list...
