Another suggestion I would give them would be an Earth of the Multiverse that underwent influence from Heaven just as Earth-13 is influenced by Hell would be a resplendent world of eternal dawn where the Presence is felt in all its grandeur and majesty in all things of creation where mortal humans are filled with faith and hope in a better tomorrow and promised salvation at where every day has 18 hours and every year 18 months (since 9 + 9 are equal to 18 and 9 is the perfect number that equals three trinities just as 18 equals 6 trinities and its sum 1 + 8 equals 9) where the Catholic Church never had corrupt representatives like Pope Alexandre VI / Rodrigo Borgia nor ever committed arbitrariness in the name of God equal to the Inquisition or the Holy Wars of the Crusades and the Dark Ages having always sought throughout its existence to promote tolerance and respect with members of other religions such as Judaism and Islam where Jews, Christians and Muslims have never lived any Holy War and understand each other in the most perfect harmony just as people of older and equally reverent religions are equally respected like Druidism, the Wicca religion, Buddhism,Religion Shinto, Alan Brennert did something like this in his Elseworlds story "Holy Terror", but while it was a religious-dominated alternate Earth, it was also brutally dystopian. The United States was a theocracy ruled by a "Privy Council", in which abortion and homosexuality were banned and in which Bruce Wayne's parents were assassinated by the state because they were performing abortions and protecting gay people from the wrath of the American religious dictatorship. Batman was their only durable superhero- the state had murdered Superman with green kryptonite and a perverted version of Zatanna was their sorcerous enforcer. Aquaman was the traumatised result of a forced breeding programme, Barry Allen was killed by Zatanna when she removed his superspeed thermal barrier, Abin Sur was never able to hand his power ring to Hal Jordan, Oliver Queen was executed for treason, and so on. The problem is, it's definitely not the kind of alternate Earth that you suggest at the opening of this thread

I definitely do not sympathize with the idea of an Earth "religious dystopia" which seems "luminous and sacred" on the surface but beneath that facade it hides the most sordid and abominable secrets possible in which the Church simply crushed with all superheroes and oppressed humanity "in the name of God." I no longer support this in real life where religion is simply the mother of all forms of prejudice and ignorance in which people simply hate each other and practice every form of monstrosity just because we are of another religion and the Catholic Church far of that image "immaculate and bright" actually hides things like Pedophile Priests Fathers and the Evangelical Churches promote intolerance to everything they consider "blasphemous" equal : Gay, Lesbian, African Religions , religions kardecist spiritism ,Druidism, Religion Wicca , Buddhism, the Shintoism , Shamanism and the Vedic Religions , Images of Saints (here in Brazil a Pastor of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God in the full day of Our Lady Aparecida came to kick an image of the Saint considered Patroness of Brazil in national network), Fantasy Books , Comics of Superheroes , Music (Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Chronicles of Narnia , any superhero comics from any publisher any music that they say contains "demonic messages" but Rock and Roll, mainly etc considered "devil's thing" by the Evangelicals) or Islamic Jihad and its groups of fundamentalist radicals who want to kill us all just because we are "Christians" and promote suicide bombings that kill thousands of people. I simply hate it in religion and I know that if God exists he surely must be deeply disappointed with the way we corrupt and use his words according to our own conveniences to generate myopic fanaticism , hatred and prejudice of all kinds. So when I imagined Holy Earth I made a point of imagining it completely different from Earth's "Batman: Holy Terror" and imagine an Earth from DC Multiverse where religion REALLY made all the difference to the good for mankind that the real world religion did not do and I hope that someday DC Comics will even create a "Holy Earth" for the DC Multiverse that it is anything but less a "religious dystopia." |

The Holy Earth finds the religious dystopia, is repelled at the way that they've perverted orthodox teaching, mercy and compassion to support genocide, sectarianism and mass murder and decide to launch a war of liberation against them. Incidentally, it need not only be the Christian heaven or affiliations involved here. What about having a unified utopian Holy Earth where all positive expressions of religious faith find expression, mass acceptance and therefore a religious pluralist Social Justice League, which might be able to include some new characters as a result- superpowered people of faith from various traditions. Islam has its own Paradise, Buddhism has Nirvana, Wicca has the Summerlands...what if all of those heavens influenced Holy Earth?

In the Holy Earth "God" is much more than just a distant and imprecise deity in the skies that we sometimes we doubt if it is there, if we listen or care about us. He is real palpable, present, can be felt, heard and manifested directly in the lives of people of Holy Earth "God" is the materialization of all the universal faiths, creeds and precepts of all peoples and in that sense all beliefs in him have a part of the truth about his person. Christians, Jews, Muslims are as certain about what God is as the Spiritists, Zoroastrians, Mitraelis, Martians, Thanagarians, Kryptonians, Atlanteans, Amazons , New Gods even though for these different religions God or "Gods" are other than the Christian God.And the Heaven is basically the way all those who enter it believe that it would be the Gardens of Allah for the Islamists, Nirvana for the Buddhists, Summerlands for the Wicca, the Distant Prairies for the Native American Indians, Paradise for the Christians these visions are correct because Heaven is according to the concept that the different peoples that enter in it do of what would be the Heaven. I remember as long as he was The Spectre the spirit of Abin Sur went so far as to declare to Hal Jordan that Heaven was in the way with the belief of the billions of different peoples of the Universe believed he looked like and that all the beliefs of the peoples of the universe contained a fraction of the truth about what God would be even those who believed in "other Gods" not the God of people of the Earth ( equal Rao, H'ronmeer , The Source, The 12 Olympians , The Titans , The Egyptian Gods , The Nordic Gods , The Celtic Gods , The Vedic Gods , The Eastern Gods etc ) . So in that case I do not accept the concept of a "religious dystopia" of "Batman: Holy Terror" to define what Holy Earth is and also refuse to conceive an Earth under the influence of Heaven that is "malignant" while Earth-13 that this under the influence of Hell would be "benign" with Halloween superheroes : Demons , Warlocks , Witchs , Undeads , Ghosts, and Sorcerers who have sold the soul to the Devil or have made every kind of pact with some darker deity . When I imagined Holy Earth I wanted to imagine a place in DC Multiverse where faith really makes all the difference in the world to the heroes not a place where religion simply crushed all the champions of good in the name of God. I remember that in "Batman: Holy Terror" when Bruce Wayne asks James Gordon how God can consent to all this he replies, "God NO! 'The' self-appointed interpreters of the word of God! '" so you'll have to apologize if you want a "Batman: Holy Horror"-based approach, but I'm completely opposed to this kind of approach to Holy Earth. |

What I am saying is that it would be interesting to pit the utopian Holy Earth against the Holy Terror dystopia and for the latter to find that Holy Earth's god is definitely not on their side. There's nothing to stop the two seperate Earths from co- existing in the same multiverse. And if they do, I imagine the metahumans of Holy Earth would be deeply offended by the idea of their sacred core values being travestied on the Holy Terror Earth. They might well feel morally compelled to do something to alleviate the oppression, suffering and injustice perpetrated by the cruel mockery of Christianity which exists on the Holy Terror Earth. Perhaps the Holy Terror Earth is akin to Earth-3, whereas Holy Earth is more akin to the other more mainstream multiverse worlds.

I have an idea for another Wonder Woman analogue. Her name is The Abbess and she exists on a world of parthenogenic women called Deorum Cultus, which exists in its thirtieth century. This world was settled by homo magii, and is basically the Holy Earth universe analogue to the Sorcerors World. She has all of Wonder Woman's attributes but on this world, instead of being persecuted as 'witches' in its Middle Ages, religious institutions decided to bless their abilities as miraculous and use them as healers and as defenders against hostile phenomena. There was no Black Death in Holy Earth's fourteenth century precisely because one or more of these 'miracle workers' destroyed the yersinii pestis bacterium before it could devastate large areas of that world. However, they had to use sympathetic magic to do so, and because of that, their numbers were decimated, much to the horror and mourning of their fellow non-magical humans, who honour their courage and sacrifice to this day. So... there would be no Crusades on this world, the more altruistic and compassionate elements of the Catholic Church would have prevailed when the Europeans colonised the Americas, insuring larger numbers of Native Americans survived than on less compassionate Earths. Muslims would co-exist peaceably with Christians and Hindus from Indonesia to Greece. Shamans would have restrained Mongol hordes from invading much of the Middle East and East Asia, Aztec priests would have banned human sacrifice outright, Shinto and Buddhist priests would have restrained Japan from any malignant behaviour in China and Korea. Such a world would probably be considerably more advanced when it came to matters of medicine and economic equality than other Multiverse Earths. Perhaps some adapted versions of the Global Guardians could also come in useful, following their various national religious traditions?

Shamans would have restrained Mongol hordes from invading much of the Middle East and East Asia, Aztec priests would have banned human sacrifice outright, Shinto and Buddhist priests would have restrained Japan from any malignant behaviour in China and Korea. Such a world would probably be considerably more advanced when it came to matters of medicine and economic equality than other Multiverse Earths. Perhaps some adapted versions of the Global Guardians could also come in useful, following their various national religious traditions? Really interesting ideas for the Holy Earth I think that without doubt they could be used in an eventual fanfiction that used as a scenario the Holy Earth of the DC Multiverse. Another idea I had is that Diana would still be Greek but that she would have been born of the legitimate love between Heracles and the Queen Hippolyta . In this Earth instead of deceiving and violate the Queen of Amazons in order to achieve the Gaia Belt and destroy the homeland of the Amazons Heracles truly fell in love with Hippolyta and the two united in love which caused the Amazons to rethink their matriarchal doctrine and eventually to recognize men as their equals and not as barbarous and brute creatures and to accept to marry men. Diana would have been the first child born of the union between normal men and Amazons who no longer killed the male babies born of their unions and she would have been blessed with the power of the Olympus Masculine Gods (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Apollo, Dionysius, Hephaestus, Pan , Eros , Hermes and [reluctantly] Ares) beyond the power of the Goddesses of Olympus she too would have inherited both the strength of Heracles and her mother Hippolyta which as proof of the new condition of the Amazons conferred as a gift to Heracles the Gaia Belt . Upon finishing her 12 Labours Heracles returned to the homeland of the Amazons and married the Queen Hippolyta and the two lived together as Queen and King until the day they died being elevated to Olympus by Zeus and Hera where they became Gods . Diana became the new Queen and reigned wisely teaching mortals the doctrines of respect, tolerance, and love she had learned from her parents. At Holy Earth, the traditions and culture of Greece influenced the peoples of every region of the Mediterranean, including Rome, which never became an imperialist monarchy and dominated all the peoples of the continent, being inspired by the ideals of democracy or "people's government" of the Greeks and worshiping the same gods who never had their names "romanized" . The Centuries passed and Diana became the emissary of the Amazons and their husbands who had moved to Paradise Island in the mortal world and became the Wonder Woman of Holy Earth from the teachings and precepts of the Olympus Gods and unlike Wonder Woman of the Earth-1 she was not seen either as a "heretic" or "blasphemer" since in Holy Earth the 12 Olympians were viewed as equally reverent facets of God equal to the Gods of the other pantheons. She became a kind of Joan of Arc guided by her parents and the other Olympus gods who advised her and gave her inspiration during difficult times. What do you think of the idea? |

I would really be extremely happy if one of the DC 5 Earths fanfictions writers felt encouraged to write a fanfiction about Holy Earth but that unfortunately does not depend on me. |
