And if you’ve read those and didn’t find them to your liking, I don’t know what to say except that this might not be the fan fiction site for you. And that’s totally okay. Not everything we do is to everyone’s liking. That’s really up to you. You’re welcome to stay, of course, and read what we’ve done and are doing, but if you don’t like what you see, you probably won’t like anything else here.
I do hope you stay, and I’d encourage you and any new readers to read at least some of what we’ve done to see if this is your kind of stories. I think we have a lot to offer, and there are a lot of different storytelling styles, but I’ll admit we don’t necessarily have something for absolutely everyone. If you’re inclined to write, give it a try in our Elseworlds forum, and if you want to try something in continuity, I’d suggest starting with something on a smaller scale with just a few characters as you get more familiar with the shared universe we write in.

I would suggest you read the stories featuring the Conglomerate. They’re very well done, and very much in the tone of the JLI. I can tell you’ve never read them, because you make a lot of mischaracterizations about how the characters are portrayed as scoundrels. That’s not what I said. In fact, the Maxwell Lord in our continuity is exactly the same as the way he was originally portrayed, when he was under control of the Construct. As I said, the original author left before finishing the storyline, and so we never got to see the rest of Maxwell Lord’s storyline. Please read our stories and start from there. It's not really a question of mischaracterization on my part, just because someone here decided to write all these facts about Maxwell Lord's Conglomerate first, this made it impossible to create a Justice League International as a fanfiction and make it impossible use some of the most iconic JLI characters members like Guy Gardner, Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Fire, Ice etc who are now all members of the Conglomerate and unfortunately are no longer available for use in a Justice League International story. Believe me, half of the jokes I could make with these characters will completely lose all fun if they are made with other characters. All because someone took these heroes and heroines before and decided to use them differently than as JLI members. And no matter how "funny" the Conglomerate was as a fanfic, he never had even half the charisma that a Justice League International fanfic would have. Thanks for the links to the stories DocQuantum but honestly I'm not interested in reading a story from the Conglomerate. What I would have liked to read was a story from JLI but I won't be able to anymore because someone decided for me that JLI was not important to make a fanfic of it.

Excuse me but I don't agree to change JLI from Earth. They are the way I learned to see them and like them a super team from Earth-1. They are living proof that sometimes it is not necessary to be the "best of the best", just a good person full of good intentions who does not take himself so seriously to do justice and fight for good. As you put it, a "humorous" Justice League could only exist on Earth-12, which is absolutely not true. I think that there is room for a Justice League International with a sense of nonsense humor even on Earth-1 and that properly done JLI could be an excellent story that would blend good humor with heroism perfectly. It's not so much the tone as the continuity. Earth 1 here has specific takes on characters. For example, you listed Huntress (Helena Bertinelli) who I don't think exists on our Earth 1. You listed Superwoman and included history from Post-Crisis that isn't part of the Superwoman character that exists on our Earth 1. If you want to set your story on Earth 1 you would need to make it fit with the history the group has established. If you need to have a different history for characters like Superwoman or Batwoman, maybe the story is better set on another Earth. If you need to introduce a ton of characters that don't exist (or don't have Earth 1 counterparts) like Captain Rey, Black Vulcan, or the Helena Bertinelli Huntress you might want to consider a different Earth. Now you might be able to tell your story on Earth 1. There is no reason you can't create new characters or repurpose existing ones. But it might take a lot more work to put your team together than either using established heroes from our Earth 1 or setting the story on your own Earth where you can have any character defined exactly as you want. In the case, not necessarily. First I decided to replace Black Canary / Dinah Lance who is a member of the Justice League of America by Black Canary III / Dinah Redmond a much more confident and secure version of Earth-1 from the character of Birds of Prey live action television series than in instead of a hypersonic scream, she is a telepath and telekinetic of the same level as Jean Grey of the Marvel Comics. She would be a relative of Black Canary / Dinah Lance raised by another branch of the family Lance the Redmonds who kept up with the relative's actions as a superheroine and inspired by her decision to become the third Black Canary member of JLI. As for Huntress / Helena Bertinelli, I decided to replace her by Huntress III / Helena Kyle, also a character in the live action series Birds of Prey, the illegitimate daughter of the love relationship between Catwoman / Selina Kyle and Batman / Bruce Wayne abandoned by her mother because she fears that the villain Joker to kill her in retaliation for Catwoman's interference in her plans to kill Batman in the care of her Martial Arts Sensei who raised Helena on the martial arts path until she overcame her own master and she decides to assume the identity of the third Huntress. Captain Ray may even have the same name but he is not the same character in the Earth-S fanfiction that basically "is another Marvel Captain with a different magic word" in the origin that I imagined he is much more for a "Marvelman version of DC Universe "whose super powers are scientific in nature and not " magical ". The same applies to Apache Chief, Black Vulcan, El Dorado, Samurai, Rima the Jungle Woman and the Wonder Twins. Aqualad I decided to replace it with the heroine marine Dolphin which is much more interesting than him. Superwoman and Batwoman are excellent as they are, I would not change anything at all about their origin. And between us I think Batwoman / Kathleen Duquesne is a much nicer Batwoman. Honestly ? I don't want to teach any moral lessons or tell anyone here what to do who I am to even think I'm in a position to do that. I never wanted to do anyone's job or tell anyone what they should do, all I wanted to do was propose an idea of a fanfiction theme that I found interesting and thought that others would like. I never wanted to force anyone to do anything just to debate proposals and ideas for the JLI fanfic.

I never wished for an exclusive fanfiction site for me. All I really wanted to do was discuss ideas about fanfiction themes from the super hero groups that I love the most and that I learned to admire as I did in the case of JLI. It was not possible ? Patience. I will discuss other proposals from other fanfics because in reality the only thing I want is to be able to be useful and somehow discuss themes from stories that as a fan of DC superheroes I would like to be able to discuss with other fans in order to result maybe in the theme of future fanfics. Not "mine" or "my fanfiction site" but all of us.

I never wanted to force anyone to do anything just to debate proposals and ideas for the JLI fanfic. Let's try it this way. The way this site is set up, if i want to tell a story with a young Clark Kent on Earth 1 then i have to use the character that appeared in the Superboy comics from 1945-1984. I also have to make that character compatible with the other stories that used Superboy in them. That is the purpose of the site. DC wrote comics in the 1980's based on the TV show Superboy that had Clark attending a school called Schuster College. Other than as an Elseworlds i can't write stories that draw on that version of the character. I cannot use the young Clark Kent that was shown in the TV show Smallville as an Earth 1 character. I couldn't just start a story based on Superboy and the Ravers or the character in the Young Justice cartoon and act as if those prior stories were set on Earth 1. If you are going to propose a fanfiction for Earth 1, it needs to fit OUR Earth 1 even if it is using characters that DC used in other comics since 1986 or if it uses characters from the cartoons and other media. That's the deal you have to accept as part of the community here. If your ideas don't fit Earth 1 or another of the main Earths here, that is what Elseworlds and Infinite Earths are for. Dan just proposed a challenge with using certain old characters outside of the DC stories and has at least one other writer that joined him over at Infinite Earths to work on that. You have gotten a lot of feedback in this thread, you might be able to find some writers here that would gladly help you craft stories set on a new Earth that resembles the Post-Crisis Earth from the 1980's Justice League International series. Those are your options. You can write stories on Earth 1 where as you say prior writers have already addressed a lot of things you want for your "JLI" team and some doors are already closed. You can write in one of the sections for stories not set on an established Earth and have the chance to use the versions of the characters you personally need to make your "JLI" work.

You can write in one of the sections for stories not set on an established Earth and have the chance to use the versions of the characters you personally need to make your "JLI" work. I am well aware that Earth-1 from the DC 5 Earths forum follows its own chronology of facts other than Earth-1 from Universe DC Comics. What I don't really understand is why someone having Guy Gardner, a version of Earth-1's Blue Beetle, Booster Gold, Fire, Ice, Animal Man and so many iconic characters that always belonged to JLI instead of making a JLI fanfiction to instead he made a fanfic with the Conglomerate and was soon trying to put these characters all who always belonged to Justice League International in a team of characters that in the DC universe of comics never went beyond a class Z sub team of supporting characters from Justice League International? Why exactly the need for a fanfiction of the Conglomerate? And why they could not use characters that have always been part of the Conglomerate in comics such as Reverb (Armando Ramone), Praxis (Jason Praxis), Maxi-Man (Henry Hayes), Vapor (Carole Donahue), Echo (Terri Eckhart) , Templar (Colin Brandywine) why exactly put JLI members as members of the Conglomerate? Is it just me who thinks this idea is ridiculous? Regardless of the official chronology of the DC 5 Earths forum, following a pattern with well-placed characters located in their own groups and universes, placing characters that originally belonged to a version of the Justice League that operated in international scope and changing them to the Conglomerate a team that was created solely to serve as "supporting" for JLI was an idiotic idea. It was taken solely to make it impossible for someone to ever effectively create a fanfiction with JLI because the characters who were supposed to be from JLI now all belong to a third echelon group . That's what I mean. Why use in a the Conglomerate fanfic characters that in the regular Universe DC simply despise completely the Conglomerate? Is it just me who thinks it doesn't make sense? And that if they really wanted to make a fanfiction of the Conglomerate they could have taken any other character since they did not take the characters that should belong to Justice League International? I am sorry sir but indifferent to the official timeline of this site where it makes sense to take characters that are collectively associated with a team from Universe DC and throw them all in another of lesser importance? Where is it written that this has logic? No doubt I am aware of the fact that here Earth-1 has its own private history that is different from Earth-1 in comics but I am not willing to "create my own Earth-1" since there is already an Earth-1 here. It doesn’t make any sense nor is it necessary to create an Earth-1 just for me to place the Justice League International and I could perfectly do JLI stories located on Earth-1 on this forum but I can’t because someone came first and took all the characters who should be from Justice League International and put them all on a team of lesser importance in the case of the Conglomerate. It is indifferent that here on the DC 5 Earths forum, if use, characters that DC used in other comics since 1986 or if it uses characters from the cartoons and other media these JLI characters are mostly all prior to 1986 except for a few exceptions. And if this rule you mentioned about only making stories with characters of DC Universe existing after 1986 currently in the public domain or used in cartoons, movies or other entertainment media was true then neither could they have made a fanfiction with The Conglomerate which is a team from DC Comics created in 1991. So sir. Please do not need to tell me what options I would have here to make a fanfiction nor do you need to tell me what I would have to do in the impossibility of using certain characters in an eventual JLI fanfiction I understand very well what I should do but I do not see because I would need to have to create an exclusive world and Universe for a single group of international superheroes and this group as I understand it has always been exclusive to Earth-1 and no Multiverse DC world anymore. The way I interpret JLI is a team that for a brief and wonderful period took the place of the Justice League of America with honor and dignity when the "immortal legends" of Universe DC were so busy with their own aphasers that they decided to "disband" everyone and leave the world to your own account and where the Justice League realized that the world was much bigger than just the borders of the USA and that the Justice League could act internationally and give chance to superheroes from other countries, stop thinking that the world of super beings worked only in function of the USA and their crises and other countries in the world could have super protectors so worthy and heroic as Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. This is not what happened here on this forum but still for me JLI is unique and inimitable and does not need to belong to another Earth from Multiverse. The Conglomerate can never match JLI whether a writer here made a fanfic with him or not. And not the need to create "my world" for JLI because JLI belongs to this world and only and only to this world and no other.

And that is the problem. The JLI does NOT belong to Earth 1 here. It never did. You are free to tell your tales on an Earth 1 where the JLI existed. You are free to offer suggestions about a world where the JLI existed. It isn't the Earth 1 at this site. It is an Elseworlds or a differently numbered Earth.

I am immensely grateful to you for this and I know that I have creative freedom to do whatever I want here on the DC 5 Earths forum to try to create my own version of Justice League International. Only that I want to use the iconic members of this supergroup, not "substitutes" created to take their place. I learned to love JLI with these characters and the way I see them they are indissolubly a team of heroes from Earth-1 not from any other Earth in Multiverse and I don't want to have to create another Earth just to put JLI in it.

Please be respectful of everyone here. We’re trying to help you by explaining how our fan fiction project works. Jon is not a troll, he is one of our writers. You're right DocQuantum sorry. I humbly apologize to jonclark for the badly polite response on my part, I think I should have thought better and long before submitting that response and saying things that I shouldn't have said at all and that he absolutely didn't deserve to have to read. Believe me, I am not an ignorant bad manner who says the first bad thing that comes to mind. I apologize to jonclark if I offended him, I swear it won't happen again. I know you are trying to help me try to find a way out to be able to write a fanfic with JLI but honestly I don't see how to resolve this impasse ... I don't see or want a version of JLI located in any other Earth in Multiverse i don't want a fanfic located in the "Elseworlds" section for me the Justice League International should be located on Earth-1. She always was, always is and will always be an Earth-1 team, but I can't use the characters that should be members of JLI because someone has already put them all as members of the Conglomerate and that's frustrating because half the jokes and the sense relaxed and irreverent humor of JLI depends on these characters and if I can't use them all the nonsense humor and fun of the jokes will be lost completely and I don't know how to solve it because thanks to this writer who decided to take the iconic characters Justice League International and replace them all to the Conglomerate I would have to place equivalent counterparts that would not even match the originals and I’m tired of saying that I don’t want to place JLI in another Earth of the Multiverse just to be able to use these characters. THEY ARE CHARACTERS OF JLI AND JLI IS OF EARTH-1 AND FINAL POINT ! But unfortunately it is no longer possible to do this or to use certain characters that belong to other groups or do not belong to the Forum DC 5 Earths timeline and this greatly disappoints me because I will never be able to do anything with these characters and I am very sorry about that.

I'm sorry but I don't feed trolls. For my part, this discussion is closed. So sir have a nice day. You are WAY out of line here, pal. Jon is stating plain fact to which you have reacted with extreme rudeness. The JLI was never... NEVER Earth-1! It was invented over a year after Crisis on Infinite Earths had ended with all remaining earths merged. Earth-1 no longer existed. JSAGL, the talented writer you called an idiot, simply used the Conglomerate name, because it was up for grabs, as a nod to the post crisis series and so he could have a version of the post-crisis version of the Justice League in all but name in the same world where the traditional version exists. Try not to get so hung up on names. It's possible to create the team you want without having to actually call it JLI. Also, JSAGL hasn't written anything here in years. Superheroes, like atheletes, sometimes go on to play for new teams.

Superheroes, like atheletes, sometimes go on to play for new teams. I admit I was too rude to jonclark and I deeply regret this because he didn't deserve to hear that rude reply. But if I politely disagree with you, starskyhutch76 JLI is not just from Earth-1 nor "never was" simply because the writers here at the DC 5 Earths forum didn't want it to be and made it literally impossible for them to ever become one Earth-1 team in fanfictions and sabotaged it by making all of its most interesting participants as members of the Conglomerate and other teams or by making them belong to other Earths or timeline of the DC Universe of Forum DC 5 Earths. It's even annoying I can't put Guy Gardner in JLI because someone here decided to replace him in the Conglomerate in one of the most absurd creative decisions I've seen since DC turning Lobo into an effeminate "Twilight" thing. I can't use Black Canary or Huntress because they don't belong to Earth-1. I can't use Fire or Ice because they belong to the Global Guardians. I cannot use Booster Gold or Blue Beetle because they are not part of the official forum chronology. I can't use the Musketeer, Crimson Fox or any of the superheroes in France because someone here had the idea to create a team of French heroes and put them all as members. I cannot use British superheroes because likewise someone created a group of superheroes from England which makes it impossible for me to use any English superheroes from DC Comics. I cannot use any characters from the 90s onwards because of the forum rules it is only allowed to use characters from DC Comics published until 1986 that are in the public domain and that have been used in cartoons, films, live action series etc. In short, I could never make a JLI fanfic because the authors here on this forum made it completely impossible and sabotaged the possibility of creating a Justice League International superhero fanfic as Earth-1 superhero team. And this argument that "Superheroes, like atheletes, sometimes go on to play for new teams" is relative. Type can you imagine Batman acting as a member of the Global Guardians? Or Superman? Or Wonder Woman? Or Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman, Green Arrow, Firestorm, The Atom, Zatanna or any of the main characters in Universe DC? And I refuse to use the name of the Conglomerate in a fanfiction instead of the name of Justice League International. I hate the Conglomerate, I think it is mediocre, idiotic, stupid, I hate the fact that a smart guy here decided to make a fanfic with this pathetic team of DC Comics class Z supporting characters and put in them all the members that have always been JLI. If you were a Formula 1 pilot all your life would you change that and throw a brilliant career into space to become a Rugby player without the slightest talent or skill for this game? I'm sorry but this argument of your that "Superheroes, like atheletes, sometimes go on to play for new teams" doesn't convince me.
