What are some 'other publisher' close equivalents of Green Lantern? I can think of 3 (or 5, depending on how you count)
Quasar (Wendell Vaughn)
Dr. Spectrum (the originals, from Squadron Sinister (Obatu/Krimonn) and Squadron Supreme (Joe Ledger)) The Beacon (from Earth A (Julia Gardner) and Earth B (Scott Martin))
These are all normal humans controlling energy via the use of some extraterrestrial power source...
I don't remember Space Ghost all that well - would he be considered a close equivalent? I think I DO remember a GL/Space Ghost crossover - with what I considered poor characterization of GL...

The Ray and the Ray II both have light-based powers, and in more recent years both displayed the ability to create solid light constructs like Green Lantern. Of course, the original Ray is on Earth-X now, but Ray II is on Earth-2 and is a current member of Infinity Inc.

So - suppose you have a prison with a wall around it. The wall is likely cement, and it is probably 3 to 4 feet thick and about 3 stories high. Does Green Lantern's Power Ring have enough power to knock down a section of that wall (say, maybe 10' wide)? Does Starman's Cosmic Rod?
I'm thinking, make a giant 'battering ram' and slam it into the wall maybe 5' above ground level.
Just estimates based on the kind of power levels seen in our continuity. Thanks!

I don't think Space Ghost really could make constructs as much as he made beams of concussive force or possibly force fields to protect or contain. Then again, he seemed to gain various powers from one episode to another. Birdman generated heat and light.

Yeah, Space Ghost is more like a different type of police force than a Green Lantern.

Hard to tell about Cosmo, as he only appeared 3 times, and as far as I can tell, his third story is not available on the Web. (Third Lady Fairplay story in the same issue, I think). I guess I shouldn't have reused this thread, but really interested in whether you guys think Starman's Cosmic Rod, in particular, is capable of knocking a hole in a thick reinforced concrete wall... I found the cover for Bang Up Comics #3. If anyone knows where to read it on line, or find a synopsis of each story, I would love to read it. I based my Mac Maine story on the first 2 episodes of Cosmo Mann and wonder how close I came to the third episode - and I would like to write some more Lady Fairplay stories, maybe adapting the existing ones.
