The Crimson Avenger sounds more like a super-hero name. If we were talking about someone like the Shadow or Batman who despite being mysterious and suspect (by the authorities) is still obviously heroic the Avenger part fits. But as Lincoln is trying to pull off being a rival crimelord it works better as just "The Crimson". I mean just what do other criminals assume he would be avenging?
