Okay, so the Justice Society formed originally in order to combat a delayed version of Hitler's Operation Sea Lion in 1940, his planned invasion of Britain- which took place here in November 1940, repelled by several members of what later coalesced into the JSA as we know it. So here's the thing. There's also a contemporary myth that Britain's patriotic magus population took part in a grand warding of the British Isles to similarly repell the Nazi threat (as well, possibly, as any supernatural Nazi threats courtesy of Nazi Germany's Ahnerbe). So here's my idea. Would any of DC's 1940 mages participate in such an activity and who would they fight if the Ahnerbe tried anything? The original JSA story: dc.fandom.com/wiki/DC_Special_Vol_1_29Here's one take on the patriotic British magus story: www.thoughtco.com/british-witches-hitler-spell-4134250So who could be enlisted in this context? Obviously Doctor Fate and the Spectre and possibly also Zatara. But who else?

One viable WWII occult threat might be the Thule society: Necromancers working for Adolf Hitler. They were featured in the show Supernatural and we could introduce a version of them here. I've used some stuff from Supernatural in a Hellblazer story here already. Heck, they're both WB properties. www.supernaturalwiki.com/Thule_Society

Funny, I was just re-reading that very story, and I sure couldn't remember writing that... then I saw the credits!

Funny, I was just re-reading that very story, and I sure couldn't remember writing that... then I saw the credits! Right. At the time I published it I proposed the solution to keep your history of Grimoire Island intact even though it didn’t originally work with the history shown in previous stories written by CSyphrett and others for the Earth-1 group. I believe I sent you the part o wrote prior to publishing it.

all is good, Doc! In fact, the multi-dimensional character of Grim Island, and the extremely powerful magical defenses, will come in very handy in my current story.

Did you ever use Nadir? We don't know what happened to him after he was strangled and abducted unless you used him somewhere. Since he was originally from India I can imagine him getting involved with "Mother England" since at this time England still ruled India.

Nadir was transported by Atoman to Earth-1 in the present day, in a story called "Whatever Happened To…?"
He stayed on Earth-1 for a while, and married June Moone (the Enchantress). Then he was transported back to Earth-2 (still in the present day).

Which story did that happen? I don’t recall where Nadir returned to Earth-2.

There was an obscure pre superman? magician called Lando. Hocus and Pocus claim to be the sons of the magician Presto. Interestingly Margo the Magician from Quality comics also claims to be the daughter of Presto. I believe both Prestos have disappeared. I know different earths but still...

Hmmm. If there was a Thule Society, then why not an Albion/Merlin/Myrrdin Society in Britain as a counterpoint? Not sure what a United States version would be named.
